ISO/IEC 42006
The standard setting the requirements for bodies that audit and certify AI management systems, published 7 July 2025. It supplements ISO/IEC 17021-1 and defines the competence an assessor must hold to audit against ISO/IEC 42001.
Why it matters: it is the reason the number of accredited ISO 42001 certification bodies is small.
