UKAS
The United Kingdom Accreditation Service, the sole national accreditation body recognised by the UK government. It accredits certification bodies rather than certifying organisations directly. UKAS granted its first AI management system accreditation, for ISO/IEC 42001, to BSI, announced 17 November 2025.
Why it matters: UKAS accreditation is what makes a certificate defensible.
